ICZC FEAST OF TABERNACLES 2015
ven today I declare: That I will restore double to you. For I have bent Judah, My bow, and fitted the bow with Ephraim, and raised up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece, and made you like the sword of a mighty man. (Zechariah 9:12-13)
Don’t stay at home and observe, come up to Jerusalem and PARTICIPATE in what the Lord is doing!
A momentous and earth-changing work of the Lord is underway. Focusing (if we can use that term concerning our all-seeing and omnipresent LORD) on Israel – the nation He is restoring to His land – it is the clear and unmistakeable purpose of God to draw the attention of all of us who love Him to that which He is poised to do in and with His people.
More than that, I strongly believe, it is the heart of our Father that we be involved with Him, not merely watching and applauding and singing praises from the sidelines, but coming alongside and embracing this nation, to stand with them through all that lies ahead.
I will take it even further: our involvement itself is an integral part of what God is doing. We are meant to be instrumental in the outworking of His glorious plan with the Jewish people and their land.
Look around the globe – there is no doubt that Israel’s isolation is growing, that the nations of this world (OUR nations!) are ganging up on this regathered and plucky but battered and hated people. The world’s impatience and hostility towards Israel is proliferating as God blesses and keeps them in the face of it all.
And keep them He will; as He says in the key verse for last year’s Feast of Tabernacles: He who scattered Israel will gather him and keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.
This we are proclaiming, and this we will (at the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem from September 27 to October 4 this year) gather to declare to the isles afar off, to the gentiles, to the United Nations, to the European Union, to the United States, to all the world: Despite everything you do, despite your pressure and your blackmailing and your threats and your condemnations and your sweet talk, despite it all, “He WILL KEEP ISRAEL as a shepherd keeps his flock.”
What’e more – He is going to use Israel to teach a lesson to the world. And those of us from Ephraim willing to be fit to His bow, Judah, will take this message – this warning – to our nations!
Fellow believer, no matter where you are from, your country has already joined in the universal alliance against Israel. The Spirit in you cannot accept this quietly, cannot let it pass and will not be overwhelmed by the fact that the whole world is on the other side. Guess what? You have a shepherd’s calling too:
“But I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase I will set up shepherds over them, who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,” says the LORD. (Jeremiah 23:3-4)
2000 years ago, Jesus wept over this nation when He saw the great tribulation and suffering that lay in store for them. Today, we are called to comfort and speak tenderly to His people who have been through this terrible time of tribulation. We are to cry out to Israel and tell her that her warfare is ENDED, that she HAS paid double for all her sins. (Isaiah 40:1-2)
We invite you to come, then*, to the Feast of Tabernacles and join your voice with ours as we minister words of encouragement and support to Israel. We will be telling the Jewish people that they do not need to be anxious or afraid. We will strengthen them against pressure from western governments and pray for their protection against military threats from the Islamic world. We will point them to the promises in their Bible, the words of their God to them: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
