ZIONWARRIOR TOURS / Because Israel's future is OUR future

Zion Warrior Letterhead-Mod

ISRAEL – Not only her ancient story but also her future glory.  Not only the land He was born into, the land of His heart, but the land He will soon return to.

We are not called to be site-seers, not even just to encourage Israel from the sidelines. We have an active part to play. As Bible-believers know, Israel’s future is OUR future too.

Of the more than 3.5 million tourists to Israel in 2013, 60 percent were Christian, and by far most came to “walk where Jesus walked.” Their eight to 14 day pilgrimages were spent visiting shrines and geographical locations pertaining to the beloved Biblical accounts of Christ’s life 2000 years ago.

No question about it. Tours like this can do wonders for a Christian’s faith – rendering the Bible in a hi-definition, 3-D setting that can only enhance and enrich the Believer’s grasp of the New Testament. Small wonder the Land of Israel is sometimes referred to as “the fifth Gospel.”

Of course, while Jesus’ birth, life, ministry, death, resurrection and ascension comprise the core of our faith, for believing Christians it doesn’t end there. The culmination of His story lies in the ardent hope of His return!

Jesus’ historical life is hardly the only subject in the Bible – it is not even the main one, though it is doubtless the central one. Almost the entire Bible is set in the Land of Israel. The founding, forming and famous history of the Nation of Israel – into which Jesus would be born – takes place primarily in the Land of Israel (the NEW TESTAMENT name for the land – see Matthew 2:20-21). All Biblical prophecy concerning the closing of the Age and the reign of the coming Messiah is related to Israel – the people and the Land.

So stop for a moment and consider.

A visit to Israel can take in so much more than just the “Jesus sites.” Of course you should see Bethlehem and Nazareth, Capernaum, Caesarea Philippi, Jericho and the Judean Wilderness – and of course Golgotha and the Empty Tomb.

As millions of Christians have down the years, you should have the chance to be baptized in the Jordan River, float in the Dead Sea, ascend fortress Masada, stand under the sweet water falls at Ein Gedi.

But there is so much more than this to be immersed in.

Come learn about the miraculous, prophecy-fulfilling rebirth of the Jewish nation in their national home. See where immigrants fleeing antisemitic persecution in Eastern Europe and Russia entered and began to settle the land. Discover how they brought the land back to life – draining the swamps, channelling water to the deserts, covering a myriad hills with fresh green forests. See how they learned to defend themselves, and be introduced to the legacies of the Christian Zionists who believed in their vision.

Visit battlefields where the Jewish state was born in the fires of war and where Israel faced being wiped out in the conflicts that followed. Be brought up to speed with the astonishing ways this fledgling Jewish state overcame their foes – against all odds.

Journey along the timeless “Way of the Patriarchs” – across the mountains of Samaria and Judea – where Abraham, Isaac and Jacob traversed the land of Canaan and where the Lord promised to give it to them. Drop by one or two of the hated Israeli settlements that today line that ancient way, and meet the God-fearing Jews who live undaunted in the midst of their enemies; in these dangerous, disputed places the world calls Israeli-occupied Arab lands.

Communities bullied by diplomats and threatened by bombs, bullets and missiles will welcome us into their midst as we affirm to them this Biblical truth truth: that God has brought them home and planted them in their land, never to uproot them again.

Yes, Israel’s past stretches virtually from the dawn of time –  the cradle of civilization for billions. Her present is vibrant, enthralling, affecting and challenging every nation on earth. But what of her future? Where is Israel headed and what will the finale be?

Come stand with me on the Mount of Olives above the Valley of Jehoshaphat and across from the Temple Mount, and lets consider this.

Israel is here to stay.

It has been said, more than once, that we who are alive in the first years of the 21st century are living in unique and unparalleled days — days our Christian forebears longed to see. There is little doubt that sand in the hourglass of our age is almost out. The Land of Israel – the center stage upon which God’s great plan of redemption has been playing out since Abraham’s day – is readying for the grand finale of all time.

I know there’s a great deal of uncertainty in the world. I know there’s an economic meltdown. I know there are wars and rumors of wars – not least of all right here in the Middle East.

I also know this – that in these days, “ten men from every language of the nations” will be moved to “grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man and say, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’” And I know this: “the people who know their God shall be strong and do great exploits.”

Concerning this nation, God says:

I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:12)

Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. (Isaiah 60:1-3)

As God’s light rises over Zion and His favor returns to her, hatred and loathing of Israel is mushrooming in the East, while frustration and irritation with her brews and rumbles in the West.

Viewed horizontally, her future looks bleak indeed. How can one tiny nation stand alone against the world?

Except that Israel is not alone. Her God is with her, and He has vowed never to leave her nor forsake her. Just stand still, He says, and see the salvation of your God.

Which is surely where those of us who love the Lord come in.

Israel’s situation is destined to continue until, in the end, all those who hate Zion are lined up against those who represent the Lord and who stand with His purposes.

Tens of millions of Christians everywhere DO care for and pray for Israel. The more we see of God working out His plans for her, the more we want to stand with her. According to the Bible, our future, our destiny, is tied right in with hers.

In this battle of the ages, you may already be on God’s side. Back at home though, you are being bombarded day and night with skewed and malicious media reports – reports designed to poison your mind and batter away at your stand with Israel. Your colleagues, your friends, perhaps even members of your family and your church oppose Israel and support those who hate her.

Where will YOU take your stand?

While contemplating the promise of Israel’s glorious future tied up in the prophetic sites I’m inviting you to come and see, consider this truth: that your own personal future is fully bound up in Israel’s, that you are as wired into her destiny as she is.

If – as many I have guided attest – visiting Israel deepens a Christian’s faith and forever impacts his/her life, why not take it a step further and embark on an experience that will bring your soul into alignment with God’s soul, and synchronise your heartbeat with the heartbeat of the Lord? (Jeremiah 32:41)

Come and find out how – as a spiritual investor in with a ‘vested eternal interest’ in Israel’s future – you can play an active role in this living story that God is rolling out, piece by piece, before your very eyes.

Come, and let God show YOU what He is doing/building/making in the land where He has put His name; how He is readying it for Messiah’s return.

Travel Israel’s plains, cross Galilee’s hills, ascend Judea’s mountains and walk on Jerusalem’s streets. Come experience the land, meet the people, and bless them with words of strong support, fervent encouragement, heartfelt love.

Come, and let the Lord speak to YOUR hearts in the very place He is bringing prophecy to life. Come, and let Him whisper what it is He needs YOU for. His purpose is to actively include us in some way in the fulfilment of His purpose regarding Israel.

Come and find out what that could be for you.
