As Israel heads towards a critical general election, Jewish citizens fighting the theft of their ancestral lands will gather Wednesday, February 10, outside a Judean town south-east of Jerusalem to heighten awareness of their struggle.
The Israeli ‘Sovereignty Movement’ – a grassroots group with widespread and growing support throughout Israel – will join a demonstration by residents of Nokdim who recently discovered Arab infiltration of lands that have been allocated to their town for future building. Their focus is on one of numerous daily efforts to extend an illegal Arab presence in what is called Area C of Samaria and Judea.

These parts of the land – which briefly in recent history were named ‘The West Bank’ – encompass the birthplace of the Jewish nation and provided the setting for most of the events recorded in the Bible.
Organised by the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) – aka the Palestinian Authority – and massively funded by the European Union, Arab efforts to expand their presence in Samaria and Judea have been intensifying in recent years, in flagrant violation of the PLO-signed Oslo Agreement, and largely without any effort being made to stop them.
The often overtly-antisemitic family of nations solidly sides with spurious Arab assertions that this is not Israel’s land, flouting international law that buttresses Israel’s insistence that it is, and rejecting out of hand the Jews’ Bible-based, historically documented, and archaeologically-substantiated claim.
The Bible is unequivocal:
And God said to Abraham: “And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” (Genesis 17:7-8 – emphasis added)
“For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. … Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God.” (Ezekiel 36:24,28 – emphasis added)
The pals have, infuriatingly, been getting away with this illegal land grab in Judea and Samaria for years. Largely unchecked, and on EU money (how dare they), they have chipped away without pause at the strategic high ground that international law still says is part of the mandated national home for the Jewish people.
Sovereignty is such a key issue – even in the context of covid, and even (or especially) in the face of a US admin openly being stocked with fiercely pro-pal advocates. May the next Israeli govt be a true right wing coalition, please God, that will bite the bullet and bring under the auspices of government the land the world still expects to be given for another Arab state.
And may we who know whose land it is be willing to say so, and be able to say why. Lord, equip us and empower us to be warriors for Israel, to stand in the gap for her, even in our small corners.
