A critical area I am watching at the moment, domestically, very much in in the context of the approaching general election (March 23), is the battle for the heartland:
Needed: a right-wing government in Jerusalem
And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, ‘The inhabitants of Jerusalem are my strength in the Lord of hosts, their God.’ In that day I will make the governors of Judah like a firepan in the woodpile, and like a fiery torch in the sheaves; they shall devour all the surrounding peoples on the right hand and on the left, but Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place—Jerusalem. (Zechariah 12:5-6)
The Palestinian Arabs are ripping into the heart of the Jewish homeland. Literally.
According to a deeply concerned and highly motivated organisation called Regavim – which since 2006 has been reporting on and fighting in the courts the EU- and UN- funded illegal land grab – the ‘Palestinians’ have been getting away with this behaviour with almost no apparent intervention from the Israeli government.
During Trump’s tenure in the White House, the PA kept its head down, but also used the opportunity that Israel’s dysfunctional government provided to push on with their encroachment, tearing into the mountains of Samaria and Judea to quarry stone for the mansions and shell-apartments for non-existent Arab tenants which are popping up all over Area C.
Now that a Biden administration sits in the White House, the ‘Palestinians’ are emboldened.
The following short video clips, from World Israel News and Regavim, will give you a glimpse of what is happening in the land Israel’s delegitimisers everywhere call ‘The West Bank”:
- Arab pirate quarries lay waste to an ancient landscape
- Biggest quarry in Israel – and it’s illegal
- The junkyard at Bir Zeit
- Mount Trashmore
Among other things, what these appalling images shockingly show is that the Palestinian Authority (PA) – the proper name for which is the Palestine Liberation Organisation or PLO – is as far from being a failed enterprise as the Space Rover Perseverance now is from Mother Earth.
It is a stark reminder that the weapon called Palestine is still very much a threat to Israel – as the Begin-Sadat Centre for Strategic Studies (BESA) wrote on February 17:
“…(T)he PA is winning one of the most important battles it has ever waged against Israel. It is the same battle the Zionist movement and later the State of Israel successfully waged: that of strategic settlement (my italics). This means the creation of rural and urban infrastructure to consolidate control over territory required to create a state…(A) term first coined by the Zionist movement in 1942…this Zionist strategy has now been successfully adopted by the PA, especially in the fight for control over the majority of land in the West Bank called Area C.” (https://besacenter.org/perspectives-papers/palestinian-authority-area-c/)
As long as the Jewish members of Knesset remain caught up in the same sinat achim (hatred for each other) that ultimately caused the nation to go into exile 2000 years ago, that has plagued them since their return began a century-and-a-half ago, and that in their most recent history has brought them to their fourth election in just 24 months, they will lack the cohesion to mount the assertive response this takeover of Israel’s heartland and strategic high ground requires.
May the Lord, Who is guardian over and defender of Israel, bring to power a true right-wing coalition that will attend to the matter of the land. Sovereignty is a vital issue that, even in the context of a Covid reality, needs immediate action.
Agree! Thanks Stan for your convictions that challenge us out of our complacency.
