When is a Zionist not a Zionist?
It has nothing to do with calling yourself a Zionist, or belonging to a political party with “Zionist” in its name, or embracing the colours of the flag of the Jewish state while glorying in the name Blue & White.
Any Jewish politicians who are prepared to link hands with Muslims against those of their fellow Jews who stand for exclusively Jewish government over the Land of Israel, have lost their way and are become an enemy of the Jewish people of all history.
I don’t need to go to any great lengths to defend this assertion against anyone who might wish to refute it.
From Haman to Hadrian to Hitler, the Jews’ own history attests to this basic truth: Either you are a patriotic member of am yisra’el, or you are unfaithful to your nation.
And if you deal treacherously with your nation, then the very last thing you are is a Zionist.
A Zionist is someone who embodies and lives out Zionism.
And Zionism, biblically and historically-politically, is Jewish nationalism.
Realised a mere seven decades ago, it has been the movement – fueled and cleaved to through two millennia of prayerful, pain-filled hope – for the return of the exiled and globally-scattered Jews to the cradle of their nationhood.
It is their restoration to the land from which they came, and it is the restoring to them of all of that land.
Zionism’s roots go down deep into the pages of an ageless document that records in scrupulous detail the Land’s boundaries, its geology and geography, and the history of the nation it gave birth to: its founding genealogies, the biographies of its Patriarchs and the ensuing centuries of their bloodline.
That document is the Bible.
No other nation on earth – neither China nor Russia, the United States nor Great Britain, Germany nor France – no nation retains anything even remotely comparable to this complete and time-tested title deed of Jewish nationhood.
All who revere the Bible as the Word of God – whether Jew or Gentile – cannot but be in opposition to any Jewish leadership that is ready to make common cause with anyone who rejects the existence of a Zionist Jewish State.
Zionists have nothing in common with Israel’s enemies.
They are our enemies too.
