Look who you’ve gotten into bed with: a word to the Bleeding Heart Lefties

“Do we have to hijack your planes and destroy your airports again to make you care about our cause? Are you waiting for us to cut off your oil supply? You always wait for things to reach boiling point and explode, causing you harm, before you intervene to end [Israel’s] crimes and violations.”
Nabil Sha’ath (all emphases added)

This declaration, Bleeding Hearts – actually a threat of violence that should astound you, but probably won’t because none are as blind as those who will not see – was made on February 1, 2016 by this senior Palestinian Arab official who was a top advisor to terror chief Yasser Arafat.

Just to be clear about his message: addressing that sector of the international community you represent, Sha’ath is asking whether it will take a return to the bloody terrorism of the late 1960s and ‘70s to finally compel you to push hard to get Palestine born. The terror he’s referring to – the specialised form of violence which the PLO taught the world about – you may need to be reminded of: the hijacking of civilian aircraft, the shooting of hostages, the kidnapping and killing of Olympic athletes, the bombing of Parisian and other European restaurants, the murdering of Israeli ambassadors and US ambassadors…

It is a vicious terrorism that has succeeded in coercing you – so willing to embrace the ‘plight’ of the ‘Palestinians’ and appease rather than confront – into readily agreeing to recognise these Arabs as a ‘people’ in ‘need’ of a land but which has yet (by the staying hand of God) to achieve its goal: the weapon called Palestine which would be used to wipe Israel off the map.

This is making the PA impatient with you, its Western lackeys, who haven’t done what they want you to do – forge the existential weapon and hand it to the Arab world to fire.

Hence Sha’ath’s gall. Still, I’d thank him for his candor and for what was clearly an inadvertent admission of guilt, because I’d wish – although it’s a wish against hope – that his outspokenness would be widely circulated, and would give at least momentary pause to those of you who believe that justice and righteousness mandate the creation of a national home for Arabs in the historical hill country of Samaria and Judea.

You see, I am wanting to give some of you the benefit of the doubt and so I am presupposing that among those who champion ‘Palestine’ are the hardliners who have an anti-Semitic political agenda to push and care not one iota about human rights, and those of you not inherently anti-Semitic but rather motivated by social justice issues, who have been swept along by your emotions in response to the continual bombardment of charges laid against Israel by an ardently left-wing news media – claims of war crimes and ethnic cleansing and apartheid and human rights abuses and land theft etc.

If that second group is you, I must caution you – know who you are in bed with. Inform yourselves of the naissance of the PLO and how they got their global reach and backing. You can begin here, by considering the following statements of verifiable historical fact:

– there has never been a Palestinian nation; hence the Palestinian Arabs have no claim to any historical national homeland anywhere;

– Judea and Samaria are – objectively speaking – disputed areas. They are not ‘Arab lands’, they have certainly never been ‘Palestinian’ lands, and so Israel cannot give them ‘back’ to the Arabs who are claiming them;

– the name ‘West Bank’ is not an ancient designation but the modern and short-lived name given to Judea and Samaria by the Jordanians who – according to not only Israel but also the entire international community excepting for Great Britain and Pakistan – illegally occupied these parts of ancient Israel from 1948 to 1967;

– international law, according to Article 80 of the United Nations’ Founding Charter – which remains in full effect even today – supports Jewish, not Arab, national claims to the Golan Heights, ‘West Bank’ and ‘East’ Jerusalem;*

– Jewish ‘settlements’ in these areas are therefore not against international law; to the contrary:

International law expert Howard Grief states:

It should be common knowledge that under the Mandate [for Palestine], all of Palestine was reserved exclusively for the establishment of the Jewish National Home and future independent Jewish State, as was previously decided at the San Remo Peace Conference that took place in April 1920. Or put another way, no part of Palestine was allotted for an Arab National Home or state, since Arab self-determination was being generously granted elsewhere – in Syria, Iraq, Arabia, Egypt and North Africa – which has led to the establishment of the 21 Arab states of today, over a vast land mass from the Persian Gulf to the Atlantic Ocean. There is thus no necessity for a new independent Arab State in the specific area of former Mandated Palestine reserved for Jewish self-determination, most particularly, in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. Creating such a state out of Jewish land would be blatantly illegal under Article 80 of the UN Charter and beyond the legal authority of the UN itself.

– Palestine can only be birthed by stealing the cradle of Jewish nationhood to which Israel has historical and legal rights.

Again – the above statements are all readily, historically and systematically provable.

Enlighten yourselves. The information is out there. And now you can no longer plead ignorance, having heard a veteran and senior Palestinian Arab coolly threaten that if his ‘people’ don’t get their way, they will resort again to particular acts of violence. This, of course, is precisely what they have been doing ever since the signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993, and are doing right up to today.

What’s important, and in a way is new about Sha’ath’s latest, is that he openly and unabashedly states that this universally-supported Palestinian cause you endorse so fiercely came about and was burned into the consciousness of mankind through acts of international terror. It was not a legitimate grassroots resistance movement that rose to international fame on the back of valour, honour and courage. No – it is a deliberately constructed entity born out of hatred for the Jews, built on lies, incitement and identity theft, and grown on the back of Western fear and historical anti-Semitism.

It is important that you know about the lies. One foundational piece of fiction is that the PLO was established in response to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian (sic) lands (sic). In fact, it was birthed in 1964, before the 1967 war in which Israel reclaimed territory the Palestinian Arabs now want to grab for a homeland.

You can read the 1964 version of their charter (it was altered in 1968) and you will see how it stresses that the pre-1967 parts of Israel (not the ‘West Bank’) was their ‘homeland’ needing to be ‘restored’. States the preamble: “We, the Palestinian Arab people … against whom the forces of international Zionism and colonialism … worked to … dispossess it from its homeland … we who believe in its Arabism and in its right to regain its homeland … based on our right of self-defense and the complete restoration of our lost homeland…”

And note Article 24: “This [Palestine Liberation] Organisation does not exercise any regional sovereignty over the West Bank in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on the Gaza Strip or the Himmah Area.” (My emphasis.)

A ‘phased destruction’ of Israel was the strategic vision that Arafat passed on to his successors (we can see the progress the organization has made from its charter declaration to its current claims for sovereignty in Israel’s Biblical and historical heartland) and his unfortunate legacy to the world has been to put squarely on the international map the myth of an indigenous Arab ‘Palestinian people’.

Here we come to the next lie you should know – that the word ‘Palestinian’ as a descriptor for a distinct Arab people is a complete misnomer. Before the resurrection of Israel in 1948, all the people who lived in the area (not country) known as Palestine were called Palestinians. There were Palestinian Jews and Palestinian Arabs. Palestinian was not a nationality (and never has been).

Added to this is the other documented historical fact, that multitudes of the people today calling themselves “the Palestinians” are descended from Arabs who originated elsewhere in the Middle East and who came to the land in search of work after the Jews began returning and building up the land, making it arable and creating jobs for the Arab migrants. This is why the PLO Charter states – and the United Nations upholds – that a ‘Palestinian’ is any Arab who was born in Palestine after 1947. They would have stipulated it differently if the Arabs there could prove that their roots in the land went back generations or dated “from time immemorial” as they like to claim.

Article 6 of the PLO Charter: “The Palestinians are those Arab citizens who were living normally in Palestine up to 1947, whether they remained or were expelled. Every child who was born to a Palestinian Arab father after this date, whether in Palestine or outside, is a Palestinian.”

Do I need to add to their ignominy and list some of the PLO’s crimes for you?

In 1986 a United States Senate Judiciary Committee published a document, “The Availability of Civil and Criminal Actions Against Yasser Arafat’s Palestine Liberation Organization,” listing forty-two incidents between 1968 and 1985 in which American citizens suffered attacks and/or death at Arafat and the PLO hands.

These included the 1970 Dawson’s Field simultaneous hijackings of four civilian airliners; the 1972 Olympic Hostage crises which saw 11 Israeli Olympic team members taken hostage and killed; Arafat’s 1973 personally-issued order to cold bloodedly machine-gun to death US Ambassador Cleo Noel and other civilian officials; the bombing of TWA flight 707 in September 1974 that killed all eighty-eight persons aboard; letter bombs sent to President Nixon and two of his cabinet secretaries; a dead American diplomat in Amman; a bomb in Boston’s Logan Airport; the April 1973 bombing of an American oil terminal in Lebanon; the killing of wheelchair-bound Leon Klinghoffer, an elderly invalid, who was shot and thrown off the deck of the Italian cruise ship Achille Lauro.

It was these acts of terrorism and many more besides that frightened the world into taking up the ‘cause’ for the Palestinians.

So if, after knowing all this, you still

– applaud Arab leaders who exult in the fact that it has been acts of terrorism that have brought the Palestinian Arabs to the verge of statehood;

– continue to support that movement without in the very least insisting that the Palestinian Arab leadership admits to those crimes and repudiates those ‘martyrs’ who carried them out;

– support the idea of forcing Jews to relinquish their national birthplace to another group of people who have no national claim to the place (would you insist on black people relinquishing their aboriginal rights?)

then I want you to parse Sha’ath’s warning again, and pay careful attention to what he is actually saying: We will commit violent crimes against you, world, until you force Israel to give up land to us for a State of Palestine.

In today’s world of intensifying hatred of the Jews, Sha’ath can get away with such incitement to violence – unless you recognise who you are in bed with and refuse to comply.

*Howard Grief explains:

[UN Founding Charter Article 80] preserves intact all the rights granted to Jews under the Mandate for Palestine, even after the Mandate’s expiry on May 14-15, 1948. Under this provision of international law (the Charter is an international treaty), Jewish rights to Palestine and the Land of Israel were not to be altered in any way unless there had been an intervening trusteeship agreement between the states or parties concerned, which would have converted the Mandate into a trusteeship or trust territory. The only period of time such an agreement could have been concluded under Chapter 12 of the UN Charter was during the three-year period from October 24, 1945, the date the Charter entered into force after appropriate ratifications, until May 14-15, 1948, the date the Mandate expired and the State of Israel was proclaimed. Since no agreement of this type was made during this relevant three-year period, in which Jewish rights to all of Palestine may conceivably have been altered had Palestine been converted into a trust territory, those Jewish rights that had existed under the Mandate remained in full force and effect, to which the UN is still committed by Article 80 to uphold, or is prohibited from altering. As a direct result of Article 80, the UN cannot transfer these rights over any part of Palestine, vested as they are in the Jewish People, to any non-Jewish entity, such as the “Palestinian Authority.” Among the most important of these Jewish rights are those contained in Article 6 of the Mandate which recognized the right of Jews to immigrate freely to the Land of Israel and to establish settlements thereon, rights which are fully protected by Article 80 of the UN Charter.

  1. Thank you for your input, Brian. I think you’ll be interested to know that I’m preparing a “Sovereignty Channel” for this site that will aim to spell out just how criminal is the international effort to rob the Jews of their national patrimony. It is a conspiracy to commit a crime with global complicity, and because the combined weight of the world is behind the effort people think the establishment of Palestine is a fait accompli whose realization is simply a matter of time no matter what international law might state, let alone what God has stated. How true the words of the Psalmist: He Who sits in the heavens will laugh all of the nations to scorn.

  2. Stan could we be more precise at Law & state Article 5 of The Mandate ensures; “No Palestine territory shall be ceded or leased to, or in any way placed under the control of, the Government of any foreign power.”
    Article 27 of The Mandate states; “The consent of the Council of the League of Nations is required for any modification of the terms of this Mandate.”
    The late Howard Grief identified three pillars of support under girding the Jewish Sovereign Title to the Land.
    1) The Jewish historical connection to Palestine & its 3000 year history of ancient Israelite habitation & rule dating back to the first & Second Temple Periods.
    2) Article 22 of the Covenant of the League of Nations, enabled the principle of self determination to benefit the people & territories governed by the Mandate System.
    3) Designation of the Jewish people as the sole National Beneficiary to whom the principle of self determination was granted, entrusted to Britain to oversee, under the provisions of the Mandate.
    All talk of “Land for peace” & “Disputed Territories” is a nonsense, a red herring, a trojan horse by which Israel’s enemies have gained admission to the Land, as they have failed to dislodge Israel on the battle field. I’ve noted in the records back to at least 1948 whenever Islam has attacked they ALWAYS pre warn of their intention to remove the Jews, BUT every time God proves them to be false prophets, & strengthens Israel. Tough I say for the next battle will finish the argument eternally. Bye Bye Islam. AMEN.

  3. Stan, as a reader who finds your writing both timely and thought-provoking, this article is important. We are living in a world under a spell. And it is not just the secularists. Years ago, a Christian friend, a lovely, lovely person, said to me, “Look what Israel is doing to those poor Palestinians.”

    Well, what Israel is ‘doing’ to ‘those poor Palestinians’ is not nearly enough, in my book. If there are Arabs who genuinely desire the right to live in peace and security in the Jewish homeland, and make meaningful contribution, then great. But make no mistake – with rights come responsibilities, and if Israel is housing non-Jewish citizens and residents who are not committed to abiding by the laws of the land, and who cannot let go of their hatred, then I see no reason why Israel should be under any obligation to accommodate them.

    This nonsense of an indigenous ‘Palestinian’ people with connections to the land that predate Jewish presence there, an Arab people robbed of its historical homeland, is an insidious lie that underpins the entire PLO/PA agenda – has done from the beginning – and one which has been systematically and most successfully fed to a world and large parts of the Church astonishingly willing to swallow it.

    The continuing efforts of the enemy to form this weapon called Palestine against the Jewish people is like looking at a dark and sinister mirror-image of the restoration work God is doing to bring His people home to the land which He has promised them and where He will keep them safe. It’s as though the enemy is contesting God to outdo Him, trying to create a nation-state of his own – one he badly wants to use to wipe Israel permanently off the map.

    Even if we believe that the two state solution is going nowhere, that Israel will refuse, officially, to give up any more pieces of her land, she is hearing nothing from us about an alternative. That she has one is a dialogue that is desperately needed. There is territory rightfully hers which she is yet to claim, and there is sovereign territory she needs to reassert full authority over – sites where and regions in which, under international pressure, she has allowed the Arabs to work their insidious creep, their stealth jihad, and overrun.

    The day will come when the contest will be won and the world will realise in shock that it was no contest at all, that the Victor, the Almighty God of Israel, has had the upper hand all along. But in the meantime your article reminds us, Stan, that the enemy is getting impatient and wishes to hurry this thing along, birth this state of Palestine by hook or by crook.

    So those of us who understand that the land belongs to the Jews and is theirs by right to claim need to make our voices heard as a matter of commitment and urgency. My prayer is that we will and that we will stay the course. God bless you in your commitment there, and Lord – raise up the Ruths on this. And let Israel see the Ruths proclaiming truth about the land.

  4. Hi Stan. I used to read your blogs many years ago but you went off air for awhile. You were missed. I hope everything is well with you and yours. Glad you are back! Michael

  5. The Oslo Accords with Arafat shaking hands with Rabin on the White House lawn prompted by Clinton (Rabin assassinated 2 years later). Then we have Bush and Rice pushing Sharon to give Gaza as a good faith “land for peace” deal. (Sharon goes into a coma a year later never to regain consciousness)…

  6. Stan may your wisdom, truth and clarity be read and taken in by the loony Left! Far too many prefer the Lie to the Truth. Blessings and thanks – Gemma

  7. Stan, with all these troubles, there is a end of this soon, Do I know when it will end?? No!! If we read in EZEKIEL Chapters 35 & 36 it tells us what is going on in and around ISRAEL today.My heart ache’s for my brothers & sisters in ISRAEL,BUT HE THAT WATCH’S OVER HIS PEOPLE ISRAEL NEITHER SLUMBER OR SLEEP THERE WILL BE A END. The LEADERS of the WORLD HAS HAD THEIR WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING TAKEN AWAY,Because of their evil deeds

  8. Yes this is so sad to see criminals are/were running the world and in the end will destroy themselves too.
